A video showing XBMC Atlantis running on my pc. XBMC was originally released to run on modded XBOX game consoles, I happen to still use one in my living room myself. The great thing is now your not limited by the hardware of the original XBOX & XBMC is now capable of running 720p & 1080p videos. No drivers or codecs needed, It supports most any format you can think of. This in my opinion easily beats XP Media Center Edition, It will for sure once they add support for recording & viewing Tv capture cards. You can download the current Windows alpha release at the link below. Do some searching & you can find releases for other os's DOWNLOAD: NEWEST VERSION FOR ALL PLATFORMS HERE: xbmc.org I currently have this installed on my Dell Vostro laptop & use it for playing movies on the DLP projector, But at the time of shooting this video I was having trouble with my Vostro's wifi card causing noise in the audio, Trying to work with dell to get it fixed. So thats why I showed It on the other system. Remote Control You can easily map the keyboard buttons to any pc remote control, Which makes for easy use in a living room setting. it’s a parallel development. It was actually “ported” to pc and is evolving quite well on xbox to this day. a ps3 version would simply require a recompile. And xbmc doesn’t use directx. If it did, the apple client and the linux client wouldn’t work.

Hello! All, Thanks to the great folks at WMG “Warner Music Group” This video no longer has audio. I advise you to support these great folks by no longer buying their music. I had like 12 seconds of a song & it was being used to demo how audio playback works! It’s crazy stuff like this why the music industry is dying. Warner music stock was $9.01 less than a year ago & today is $2.00. They think by removing from youtube they will force you to buy their music. Yea RIGHT! Just dug your grave WMG.

Not yet, Maybe one day but not very likely. It does run on PS3 with linux installed. With pc prices at an all time low the best bet is about a $180 – $250 pc built for the sole purpose of running XBMC. Of course it also works on the 1st xbox just can’t support HD movies, Not enough CPU power.

If XBMC had died than you obviously hav’ne kept track have you..? There is a new Media Centre Called EX with does all the same stuff (plays media files Perfect snes emualtion but will be now skinned in total black with only icons to choose what you want. XBMC dead..? It’s just about to be evolved.

They have however just realesed an AppleTv version & Atlantis 2 with multi core video decoding!

Porting XBMC to the PS3 is simply impossible because XBMC uses DirectX.
Beside that fact it would also be stupid to port XBMC to a gameconsole again.

How has it died? The scripts for the pc version are compaitable with all XBMC on all platforms including the XBOX & There is a linux version of XBMC wich should have no problem running on a ps3 with linux.

XBMC has died. Simply by the fact it was released for the PC. It should have been ported over to PS3. RIP

lol, I pretty much like all music, Speaking of Tool, Vicarious was just on the radio, So for a second I was like how the hell did he know? I can’t help It Aqua is just so catchy, My music taste changes depending on my mood.
