Windows 7 Upgrade installation has missing parts. What to expect and how to find the FIX.

Exclusive video!

What you see here is exactly what I did and how it happened. My HP computer came with a Windows 7 Upgrade. I was to get the Win 7 disk when it became available last October from Microsoft. I decided video my install it so you could make up your mind to install or not, if your hesitant. My VISTA upgrade went to the Blue Screen of death and I had to do a clean install. It was difficult. I was hoping that would not happen with Windows 7. It didn't! Please don't try to convert me to a Mac because I have been with Windows so long, I could not afford to change. Besides, I like all the simulators that work with pc's and not Mac. I have found Windows 7 the most enjoyable to use. It has many neat picture editing features and everything is working flawlessly so far. It took Microsoft a while, but this seems the best yet. www.microsoft.com For the fix, download the viewer from here. http Thanks for watching and subscribing. Dave

  1. i have noticed your interest in flight, in my free time I fly microsoft flight simulator x. I find alot of enjoyment in it and I think you will too. When conditions arent right rc its a fun thing to get into. If your interested pm me.

  2. True, but you cant get the same gaming experience on a mac even running xp or 7 via boot camp etc

  3. Oh and “timemachines” are basically external hdd drives and have a reported problem with longevity!

  4. 85% worldwide use windows,it’s not perfect but it works, you can play games(lots of games),It’s cheaper(hardware&software),less restricitive, has much more available free, can do everything a mac can do,including easily finding files, backing up w/o an external hdd.Has system restore, you can change&adapt it easier than Macs pretty lockeddown os and hardware.Macs aint bad,I love my iphone(also restricted). Why would anyone use a mac?windows, especially 7 is fantastic! & games games games!

  6. i cant believe people still use windows. why not get a mac and a timemachine that backsup automatically every 60 minutes on its own. who wants to copy and paste files you have to find?? great vid but im baffled that people dont understand there is something easier that works when you need it to and you don’t need to even think about the hassle of finding and copy/pasting files to your external hd…… i love your rc vids your the one i turn to on youtube for rc

  7. PC Rules!!!

You are like that video professor guy with free lessons… Great video!!! I’m sure that many non-techy people out there will benefit from this video…

(4:23) Those are games that are installed in your computer… They should be in the “My HP Games” folder in the All Programs folder… Bejewled Rocks!!!

    Take Care!!!

  8. good video dave never had you pegged for a techie. I myself am a tech and I usually advise against upgrade installs vs clean but in your case it makes sense. Good use of backups and great tips (ie making it a reminder in the video to backup)

Kudos and keep up the good work

  9. great video!! what your sys specs??

  10. hi Dave,do you know of any good flight sim programs and hardware for esky belt cp?that will run with windows7?and the esky king3 helo?any advise would be great,thanks-tom

  11. They do now, mine came with it. Then I got two 1000GB drives to back up video files – they are small like the one Dave has. I mirror them so I only have 1500GB total, but I have double reliability in case one of the 1000′s fails. HDs are cheap these days – good idea to get some extras :)

  12. 500GB!

Why don’t they put those in the computer itsself?

  13. @NightFlyyer yes thats true, i have to use my dads laptop to play my sim, but u can download a program that turns a mac into a windows setup, my friend’s dad did that to his mac to play realflight

  14. @jmey107 Haha. Like I said, none of my favorite rc simulators will run on a Mac, and Yes, I am a flyer.

  15. @Dreamlgider Thanks, but it wont work under installations like this and no way to record audio. Most got the point anyway.

  16. Hello Herbert. Irfan View is a nice image viewer for Windows it’s small and light weight and has lots of good functions.

  17. oh noes you accepted the license without reading! ;)

when upgrading i always copy all files, format, install clean, copy back. takes approx 2h to restore everything. need to be organized but i like it clean.

    ps: does this laptop fly?

  18. Awesome Video Dave. I upgraded my laptop in October when the disk’s arrived. It went great everything was nice and smooth. And over the weekend my older pc crashed so I tried Installing windows 7 on it and it worked amazing!

  19. your a cool guy Nightflyer.

  20. @danshyu i think only idiots get viruses on my vista and im smart with it..i got anti virus and i mod vista so it doesnt crash..and i try not to watch porn.lol..ps i never got a virus or any problems

  21. I agree, and Google Chrome also has some pretty neat extensions now.

  22. It’s pointless to try to covert Dave, like he said at the end of the video. He’s a PC and a stubborn Marine.

There’s nothing wrong with Windows, as long as you’re well versed enough. And by the way, there ARE virus for Mac as well.

Windows is like a motorcycle, you can get into really nasty fatal accidents with them. But if you’re skilled, you can roam with limitless freedom.

Mac is like a bicycle on training wheels. Safe, and it gets you where you wanna go. But also restrictive.

  23. or you can just buy a mac and you won’t have to buy all of these upgrades, no trouble, and best of all no viruses

  24. Hello,

Also youcould do a dual boot, it’s easy to do and you can test w7 before you comit to the change…

  25. that is really cool, great review, very through. the features are very nice. good job on the video.
