Why is AOL locking up my friends computer?

Reader question: Her husband can get in on his account but she can't get in. The computer completely locks up. The speakers start clicking in an imitation of a hard drive crash and you can't control alt delete out of it. It is a complete lock up. The computer is running 64 bit Vista on a dual core Intel chip running at 2.4 gigahertz. They are not very nerdy and don't want to quit using AOL.

  1. .. because its AOL :)

EDIT- Honestly i have not kept up with AOL but in the past each person could have their own settings/add ons and on sign-on they would load. Maybe the wife has some settings or add ons causing an issue. Recommend having wife log in on a machine known to work for her and possibly put everything back to default and then go back to the effected machine and possibly start customizing again until encounter the issue and determine what it was.
