What type of music do you like and are you a democrat or republican?
Reader question: I tend to think that people who really listen to music listen for the ability to relate to a song. I listen to Country, Christian and, and some old time rock and roll because I really feel that these songs hit the closest to home. They mesh with my core values. Do you think that the way you vote has anything to do with the music you enjoy. I mean do you believe that they complete each other well? Please tell me your favorite music and your political affliliation. And if you feel they blend well together?

Interesting but I love a variety of music depending on the mood and task at hand.
While doing my finance and accounting work I tend to listen to classical symphonies. If i am doing yard work then give me punk. For housekeeping it is heavy and speed metal. If I am having a glass of wine and trying to figure out where my head is, well nothing but country will do.
I am a firm believer in the constitution and conservative on most issues. I don’t see how the music I listen to fits that unless it iss because I do have my “liberal” leanings as well as conservative.

I love to listen to all kinds of rock. My favorite band is the manic street preachers. They are a socialist band and very liberal but I am a conservative. I love their music even though I may not agree on their political stance.

soft rock – especially 80’s
I’m a Democrat. I don’t think my choice of music has much to do with my political stance. I’m a pacifist and quite liberal, but I don’t like 60’s music. People think that liberals are modern day hippies, but I don’t care for 60’s music or fashion (though I do have a pair of Birkie’s!). I don’t own any peace sign jewelry or clothing. I work in a library, dress pretty conservatively, and listen to soft rock music. People are always shocked when they find out my political views. I’m not sure what liberal Democrats are supposed to look like or how they’re supposed to act (?).

For me I do not think there is much connection (nor with film or reading, excepting political and religious books).
I am a Republican and tend to be more conservative than most (as well as a conservative Christian). (I think Tancredo, Hunter, and Paul are the better candidates running right now). I like virtually all music styles (excepting rap and “hip hop”), but generally listen to 60’s, 70’s, and 80’s rock most frequently (love old Black Sabbath and Led Zeppelin, etc). I am not a fan of Christian rock either really at all (don’t really like it).
Country is ok but I do not listen to much of it.
