What is the latest edition to jailbreak my ipod touch? I need the newest and the best?
Reader question: Ive been looking up information about jailbreaking my ipod and came 2 realize that it is practiclly impossible to brick it! Now, i want to jailbreak it but i dont know how to do it or the best way 2 do it. Help please!

Hope you have a windows computer, here’s what i did:
I performed a successful tethered jailbreak on my ipod touch 2G one month ago using the RedSn0w tool for windows 32 bit, and I have used Cydia and Installer flawlessly. I rebooted or turned off the ipod a few times since (just to see it was possible), and everything is going great. Here is the site of the guide I used:

This is the best GUI method out there, and really easy and quick (I used codename: Cynw00d). Follow the instructions carefully, and you should be set. The links of where to download the app are there. But you’ll need the firmware ipsw file its self. I used the latest version of firmware for the ipod touch (5H11a) and it works great. Here is a trustworthy site where I always get my ipod touch firmware:

So thats it! Thats all you need to know! I will say this, there is this one step in the app where you need to select the firmware that you will patch to jailbreak. The first time I did this, I didn’t highlight it. Everything wil seem okay, but a later step won’t work. So don’t forget to highlight the firmware you wish to use for the jailbreak when the app asks you!

p.s. If you’re on a mac, use an app called “Crossover” to run the Redsn0w.exe. I wouldn’t bother looking for a different method for mac, just because this one is so flawless.

The latest version is 2.2.1 witch is probably the best. Right now im on 2.2 and it seems a lot better than the 1.1.x jailbreaks. I dont really want to explain how, so ill just refer to the best “how-to” jailbreak person on youtube. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zeERHnvHTyY&feature=channel_page
Also in the video description, you can get the 2.2.1 firmware for free. (if you dont already have 2.0) If that doesnt help, Witch it will, check out his channel. He is the best jailbreak person out there.

Google Voltage Jailbreaker and just follow the instructions. That’s what I did
