   then u want wifi plus 3g. wifi is only if ur in a wireless area. this is 99% in ur house so basically wifi is for use in ur house. 3g is network anywhere in the u.s ive been following the ipad too and i know the sim slot is unlocked so any sim card would work. i recommend verison rather thatn att. att actually has the fastest speeds but thats rareley its not constant. verison has a faster constant speed.for travel the one with 3g is best. this is gonna replace all the e readers and kindle. just u watch amazon!!!!

   well yeah 3g means you get internet were ever you get a signal wifi you have to be somewhere and be on someones wireless internet network. 3g is prolly better if your traveling but to be honest, the i pad is basically and over sized iphone that is pretty inconvenient to carry around. my suggestion is a mac book. its more expensive but you get a bunch of other stuff. + the ipad is kinda big to carry around but i guess if you do traveling and get 3g thatd be nice. But im just letting you now that the macbook would prolly be a better choice if you ave write stuff for your work

   http://www.apple.com/ipad/pricing/ (still buying the iPad no matter what woops!!!!!! misread ur question wifi is internet used from a router like home or cafe’s, while 3g is internet used from your wireless carrier’s network. Wi fi is a little faster while 3g will be a little slower cause the signal is from the carrier. Hope you buy the ipad cause i am!!!!!!
