What college should i go to for psychiatry?
Reader question: I want to stay in North Carolina for my college. I recently moved here and have no idea what college to go to for psychiatry.

To become a psychiatrist, start with a 4-year college degree. Major in anything (psychology would be good) and take the premed classes in bio, chem, physics, math, and English. You can do this at any 4-year college or university. Then you need another 4 years of med school (at a different university) followed by 5 years of residency in psychiatry. Chances are good you won’t be in NC when you’re done.
