This book was packed full of very useful information, and was a joy to read. I normally can’t just sit down and read a book like this, I’ve got a very short attention span. The Complete Idiot’s Guide to Motorcycles, 4th Edition (Complete Idiot’s Guide to) had just enough humor packed in with all the information to keep me from being overloaded, and kept me looking forward to the next page. It took me less than a week of evenings to finish reading this, and I find myself re-reading sections every now and then.
Definitely a great book for the first-time rider. I own my own motorcycle now, and had a much better idea of what to expect thanks to this book.
I hope you enjoy it as much as I have!

An excellant book for beginners and also useful for veteran motorcyclists. Information on buying a motorcycle, types, engines, recomendations. Information and names of where to purchase your safety gear and excessaries. Basics on driving a motorcycle and maintenance basics to. Absolutely a must have book if you have or plan to buy a motorcycle.

I found this book to be enjoyable and packed full with great information for the beginner but with a few more warnings than I think is necessary. It might be enough to frighten an already nervous beginner. The warnings about beginners needing to start with smaller bikes, progressing over time to an intermediate bike and then to a larger one, had me, as a beginner, a bit worried. I went straight to the big heavy weight Harley anyway, and the other information in this book helped prepare me to have many fun and safe rides.

This book is as useful as entertaining, and a must for the not-so-experienced motorcyclist. From models over safety to maintenance, it is all in there.

I have been riding motorcycles for 60 years. This easy to read book taught me many new skills and reinforced many that had, over the years, become rusty.
