Should I get a netbook or a notebook for school?

Reader question: I'm going to start school for IT/Programming in a few days and I want to get something more portable then a PC since all of my classes are online. I was thinking of getting the Ipad but I've heard a lot of bad reviews on it and I'm not sure it would do everything I would need it to do anyway since I will have to download ebooks and such (I'm also thinking of getting a sony ereader daily edition for my ebooks) so should I go with a netbook or a notebook also any links to good ones that are affordable would be nice also. Or would an Ipad be suitable for school? I just want something as small as possible that would do the job.
Also, pros/cons would be nice.

  1. notebook

  2. Notebook. Ipads are toys that don’t have a lot of utility. Netbooks are ok if you only do internet stuff, but if you are doing IT/programming you want the power behind it to compiling and multiple tasks at the same time, a netbook is slower and limited compared to a notebook and on top of that typing on netbooks is typically not so fun unless you have tiny hands.

  3. Notebook

  4. I think you can go for a netbook like Asus Eee PC 1001P-MU17-BK 10.1-Inch Intel Atom Netbook
