I have this phone, my husband has iphone. Yes, the browser on this is disappointing but the calendar, messaging, and email are so much easier. Not to mention the phone features which are so overlooked nowadays on a cell phone. Just the ease of one touch calling from the qwerty pad…. so worth the browser pain!

If you are having trouble clicking a link from the browser, click on bb menu then scroll to grab link and click trackball. No problem.
March 31st, 2010 - 14:48
mhhhh i would buy it 4 browsing, too, but you should also take a look at the price. the blackberry is much cheaper, and thats why im gonna buy it ^^
i will have to tolerate the “bad scrolling” and the long loading times….

@ricfrasson cant you replace the trackball with a new one every so often
March 31st, 2010 - 15:30
i know the 9700 is the new one i just dont like the look of it compared to the 9000, i guess i havent had it long enough to experience a problem with the trackball but after spending 400 im gonna take real good care of it
March 31st, 2010 - 16:16
The trackball will get dirty and give you headaches! And so many bugs! i have the 9000 for 1 year now and im gonna buy the 9700 for sure. The 9700 is an update from 9000

@parisbirrdy buy a HTC phone if u want a good browser.. blackberry is exseptionally good on typing and email, easy to use.. tons of aplications, but HTC is a much better device.. then u got the hd2 killer on browsing, and touch pro 2 on querty
March 31st, 2010 - 18:39

wich is better bold or tour? and wut does RIM mean?
March 31st, 2010 - 19:35
@nicolaswatt
personally 8250 is entry model,no 3G, its simply bad.
Bold is better, but nothing special.
Me advice take Nokia E63, E71 or E72 instead.I have E63, just simply perfect.
March 31st, 2010 - 19:48
yes its about the same

Free with Wi-Fi but as soon as you use the carrier network to get online you’ll be charged and heavily so.
Whilst optional, It’s pretty much read that you need a data plan to fully enjoy a Blackberry.
March 31st, 2010 - 20:31
is blackberry curve 8250′s browser slow too?
March 31st, 2010 - 21:09
you dont have to have the plan that is a option
March 31st, 2010 - 21:53
When you buy a blackberry bold, Do you have to get a Data plan to access the web without additional charge or is it free with the wifi?
March 31st, 2010 - 21:53
I love the look of the 9000 but the size of the 9700. 9700 feels less BOLD to me though

It’s supposed to show red. It’s becasue he’s received a message/email and his phone is alerting him.

It’s similar to it but it’s not. The opera mini is great on the phones. You install it for free. You can zoom in on pictures and see them in clear quality.
