@big1buddy I should explain further:
The “biological species definition” for sexually reproducing organisms was defined in the 1930′s or 1940′s. But this definition works. Very well.
But for extinct sexually reproducing organisms and extant asexually reproducing organisms, biologists use the “morphological species definition” to separate species. There is no “magical barrier” to separate distinct species.

@jfitguru08 In sexually reproducing organisms, a species is defined as a group of organisms that can produce viable offspring with each other but not with any other organisms. So, if organism A can mate with organism B and C but not with organisms D, E and F, then A and B are in the same species.
In asexually reproducing organisms, the line is somewhat arbitrary.
That is all. That is what a biological species is and ever will be.

@Bebopopotamus Man You are kinda cool.. But Okay I think the debate has spawned some very deep discussions 1: the Adaptation vs.Evolution .. You and I completely disagree on this one. 2:The reason Im leary of the term “species” is because science has yet to determine what a species is. I mean Literally there is NO clear definition, data wise or evidence involved, that science can platform on and state where a species ends and begins.

@jfitguru08 Adaptation IS evolution. Don’t be scared of the word just cause it sounds like it’s against your beliefs. Euphemisms still describe the same idea.
No, that goes against the things we know. We can chart the life-expectancy of people and we understand it is increasing (it’s about mid 70′s now, will be higher when we’re old.) Why are you allowing yourself to believe such ridiculous things? I understand liking a book, but holy shit, you’re getting your morals and values from this book!

@Bebopopotamus If you breed animals after their kind you are just getting what the scripture says. Adaptation, Not evolution. not on a boat for 6 wks, it was more a yr approx. according to Script much food including other animals taken for this reason, was made available. if, it is true (understand you dont agree but)that at that time Noah Could have lived that long, would it be possible, just possible that most breeds of animals and flesh could have come from a single set of parents?

How do you get millions of species (note: not in quotations) from a dozen animals in 4000 years? How did they survive 6 weeks on a boat with no food? What kind of loving god makes a 600 year old build a boat? What an asshole. This is crazy talk. 600 YEARS OLD, dude! are you hearing this? Apparently that means he’d been around for 10% of earths life!

@jfitguru08 Ok, but you still haven’t given me (or yourself, for that matter) any evidence to suggest that the bible is indeed the word of god. You may be looking “deeper and deeper” but you’re still looking in the same direction. You need to be looking around and be aware of your surroundings. All the questions you’re asking yourself are flawed, because you’re asking them implying that a god exists. You can’t answer those questions scientifically.

LOL, Dude the way you put it, it does sound hard, but yes I do believe this. Think about this for a sec, if you can make 100 breed of dogs just from a start of one pair, then Yes. All you would need is one pair of animal to get 100′s or 1000′s of different “species” (dont like that word but). such as a Liger. But what is that? A cat. If you breed a cat w/ a cat, You get a cat.

@Bebopopotamus Ohh !! Okay thanks for clarifying. But when you say Keep looking, yes you perception of me is correct. I dont keep looking when it comes to finding the Faith and belief in “A”, but more important to me, “The” God. However, I do continually search deeper meaning to Him and constantly search Scripture. Im always finding new and profound wisdom that I wish I could articulate.

@jfitguru08 Also, proof and evidence are different. As far as the ark goes, it doesn’t matter if it’s a big boat on a mountain. They have to provide evidence that it belongs to who they say it belongs to. Otherwise, it’s just a boat on a mountain.
And SERIOUSLY?! You’re telling me you believe a 600 year old guy collected at least hundreds (if not thousands) of different animals (some that only live in one particular place in the world) and put them all on a boat, and they all survived?

@Bebopopotamus Also I am open to anyone who wishes to show proof EITHER way about biblical historical events and places. Noah’s ark for example, there are 3 main entrants of Evidences that say they (explorers) have found the Ark. Now none of these may be true but it is still Very interesting and fun. But there is so much about the bible that is proven and True. Of excluding my own personal experience, but I would never claim that as tangible evidence only spiritual.

@Bebopopotamus Hey I LOVE Science.! thats why I took the Naval Intelligence Job for 10 years .. I was able to use my forte of Wave Propogation (one of my favorite subject of physics) in this field deeply. However My heart lies with science when it comes to research. But this does not detract from a creator, I find science re-inforces this. Believe me I , In NO WAY think I have all the answers.

@jfitguru08 A couple things in here that are illogical. You have no evidence he actually wrote it. You only believe that because that’s what you’ve been “taught.” I could write a book and say he wrote it, too.
As far as”seek and ye shall find.”. That’s not how science works. We don’t think of something and then try to find it. You find things and then understand them. Your view of the world is skewed and I fear that you’re not learning all you could be. You think you already have an answer.

@jfitguru08 Ok, I think you’re missing something. The bible has things in it that are true – I’m not arguing that. But so does Lord of the Rings. I don’t see how having some facts implies everything in it is true.
Second, you have to separate the bible from god. Whether or not a god exists is its own question. You can’t use the bible as evidence a god exists. Personal experience falls into that category, too. I wonder… where do you find a drug that makes you so delusional?

@Bebopopotamus Well absolutely ! In fact the more I read it, the more I receive and understand when it comes to truth and reality. I had many years to explore all the so called “Contradictions” and, though there are some very few intrinsic anomolies, the bible keeps coming up as Fact. Even today many discoveries are adding all the time to the validity and authenticity of these original Scripts. Speaking Hebrew and Greek of course.
