It depends on how you define “life”
Life on earth is just molecules and compounds formed into a reproducing organic machine with the ability to observe and reason.
Say these are self reproducing and adapting structures made of energy?
What if it only barely fits our definition of “life”?
tl;dr its hard for life in some solar system way out there to be the same kind of life that’s here on earth.

I rest my case…extremists have NO place in an evolving world!!

I just found out that Jehovas Witnesses Are comppletely against the idea of life anywhere else in the universe and I have spoken to many of them.

The latest investigations into those Martian meteorites they found a while back could very well yield results this year or the next as well

either or, I think the odds of aliens capturing our radio transmissions are slim too. We don’t even know if our radio signals are making it out of the solar system through the ort cloud. And then the odds that they have technology similar to ours just widens the gap. We live too far away to go anywhere. I don’t think it will ever happen. But we can hope.

My money’s on Europa, since titan is a little cold. But really our best bet of finding alien life right now is if they come to us, since we really don’t have much of a way of communicating with them.
January 27th, 2010 - 00:52
in contrast to the vast expanse of the universe, hell yea, we’re like a spec of dust to millions of redgiants in comparison.
January 27th, 2010 - 00:59
if there is life out there I doubt we will ever find it. We live in the boondocks or our galaxy. We don’t even know if our signals are making it out of the ort cloud around our solar system. In think Titan would be our best bet of finding life elsewhere.

Anyone who thinks that Earth is the only planet that has intelligence, even as low as ours, is totally crazy.
January 27th, 2010 - 01:48
@Wheez017~ when I said lonely I did not mean it from one person’s point of view, but rather as a collective. If we as human are the only intelligent life in a universe… that’s constantly expanding then yes we would be lonely. Take Care!
January 27th, 2010 - 02:43
there might other inteligent life out there, and i think there is. but if not dont be such a pessimist, how is six billion lonely?
January 27th, 2010 - 03:19
There has 2 be an intelligent life out there or it would be one lonely universe if we are.Plus I don’t think we as humans are ready 2 comprehend the idea
January 27th, 2010 - 03:36
Eventually someone is going to have actual proof and get it out…..
January 27th, 2010 - 03:37
i agree about both your comments man lame ass x files music and it pisses me off that such an intelegent man lowers himself to such a low level when presenting shows like “nova science now” like the producers think the type of people that would watch a show devoted to science really need it to be dumbed down so much XD
January 27th, 2010 - 04:24
Carl Sagan said, “We are star stuff.” and “a way for the cosmos to know itself.”
In fact, all the atoms on earth and in our bodies came from supernova that blew up over 5 billion years ago.
Really, aren’t we all just walking, talking stardust — this cosmos become AWAKE and looking it back at itself? — and aren’t we intimately connected to it all?
Happy New Year!
enjoy the dance . . .
January 27th, 2010 - 04:27
We’ve got a few hundred thousand years to go before we’re able to discover whether there is other life forms out in the cosmos. I think we should just bury our heads in the sand.
In the mean time lets just explore and settle the moon, then mars and outward from there.
January 27th, 2010 - 05:16
naw we r teh dust.
January 27th, 2010 - 05:28
universe HAH just a spec compared to our demention !
January 27th, 2010 - 05:31
naw he didnt exist 0>1=0
=(
January 27th, 2010 - 06:25
I hate how they use scary creppy music when they start talking about aliens like from 1950. Its so insulting to our intelligence…
January 27th, 2010 - 06:56
I like this guy when he isnt trying to be funny.
January 27th, 2010 - 07:34
I guess you did reply so…there you go.
January 27th, 2010 - 08:14
Well jonwold82 removed his reply to me so I’ll reply to you instead. what about telepathy? Is that just a myth too?
January 27th, 2010 - 08:59
I’m so sick of that ’10% of the brain’ garbage. It’s too bad we will never know what started that myth. The fact is the brain is almost complete active while we are awake.
Let me put it another way… your brain makes up 3% of your body mass and uses 20% of the bodies energy. Although it’s true that at any given moment all of the brain’s regions are not concurrently firing, using imaging technology have shown that, like the body’s muscles, most are continually active over a 24-hour period.
January 27th, 2010 - 09:16
plus we can’t comprehend it because the universe is so big that, who knows whats out there
