    @Trade4Shade That’s not true for hurricanes or tornadoes. In order for the pressure difference to cause such a violent reaction, your house would have to be almost airtight. Also, as many meteorologists have pointed out, if a tornado was violent enough to cause your house to explode, then an open or a shut window would be a moot point since debris (or the wind itself) would open them on its own.

    What is up with their myths this season? I am watching in reverse order from most recent backward and just about every show has some sort of myth that is a screwed up version of another myth. Nobody has ever said open windows during a hurricane. The myth (which is false btw) is that you open windows during a tornado and all of that nonsense. Where did they dream up hurricane from?

    It was supposedly busted with tornadoes. Different studies showed that having windows open during them INCREASES damage… Why wouldn’t it with hurricanes? (I didn’t finish watching yet.)
