Little Women Soundtrack Part 3 of 4

Exclusive video!

"I may be strong-minded, but no one can say I'm out of my sphere now, for woman's special mission is supposed to be drying tears and bearing burdens." Little Women is the 1994 film version of the classic Louisa May Alcott novel, Little Women adapted by Robin Swicord and directed by Gillian Armstrong. It stars Susan Sarandon as Marmee March, Winona Ryder as Josephine 'Jo' March, Claire Danes as Beth March, Kirsten Dunst as Younger Amy March, and Christian Bale as Theodore 'Laurie' Laurence. The film was nominated for three Academy Awards including Best Actress in a Leading Role for Winona Ryder, Best Costume Design, and Best Music, Original Score for composer Thomas Newman. For your listening enjoyment :D I do not own the rights to this music

  1. Beth’s secret is my favorite (though they’re all my favorites). It’s just so hauntingly beautiful and really signifies how one chapter in life ends and another begins.

  2. i hate when Beth died. even though i read d book b4 seein d movie and i knew she wold die i still WEPT!

  3. I LOVE LOVE LOVE them singing For the Bueaty of the Earth

  4. that was sooo dramatic.

  5. what is the song playing when Jo starts to write her novel?

  6. i tihnk Beth knew she was going to die that moment, and that’s why she made it so Jo would have to turn away. When the window opened, that was Beth’s soul going to God

  7. never mind…i’ve discovered the art of scrolling down…there it is!

  8. i just discovered the soundtrack on iTunes, just anyone know if they included the tune played when Beth passes away? for years i’ved been re playing that scene just to hear the music

  9. I love Amy, a broad.

  10. It would be cool to live in that time, as long as I can still have my ipod.

  11. I’m not Christian either and I love that song/hymn. I don’t know that it is only meant to be recited by Christians, it is not directed to only a Christian god. I think you can use it in your wedding. Best wishes!

  12. I prefer Cocher’s also. It’s such a sweet melody.

I can just hear the turning point for Jo when she begins to write her novel. The music is so vivid that I can remember what scene goes with it.

  13. I love Amy abroad!!!!!!!! (L)

  14. I think this theme is entiled ”Jo discovers there’s more to life then writing” when she describes her relationship to beth in a letter and she matures during her stay with the kirke family

  15. i love the movie version of “for the beauty of the earth”…what a beautiful song
im not a christian person and i wonder if there is a good way to change some of the lyrics…..it would be perfect for my wedding as well

  16. I like the arrangement by John Rutter, but for some reason I love Conrad Cocher’s more. I’m glad they used this version. Beautiful song.

  17. …so beautiful..

  18. Ilove little women I wish I was born in that era. I woiuld have loved to dress like that. simpler times much more simple times. I love how hte sisters all love and respect eachother so much. I love this movie it’s amazing and the music is absolutely beautiful.

  19. I had “For the Beauty of the Earth”.. at my wedding. It is a beautiful song. Perfect for the movie.

  20. Yeah, but with the melody by Conrad Cocher, not the one by John Rutter which is more known

  21. It’s named “For the beauty of the Earth”. It’s a christian hymn that was written in 1864.

  22. What is the name of the song where the little girl sing “for the beauty of the earth, for the glory of the skies, …”? That’s also the song they sing at the wedding of Meg and Mr. Brooke. I think this is a wonderful song but it makes me so sad! It reflects the feeling of change so well- the feeling if something changes and you actually don’t want it to change…

  23. amy abroad and on the other video ‘springtime’ beautiful songs

  24. Amy Abroad…. have the movie on tape and just kept rewinding it to hear that piece…

  25. Amy Abroad…. have the movie on tape and just kept rewinding it to hear that piece…
