Is the Apple Ipad going to come out with more memory than 64 GB?
Reader question: 64 GB isn't a lot for a computer. I was thinking about getting an Ipad, but it is only 64 GB and my computer now has 160 GB. I was wondering if they are going to extend the capacity to at least 120 GB?

Not at the moment.
But 64 GB should be fine for ‘light’ users. Anyone who cares about such things would obviously get an Asus or similar instead.

Not right now, but it probably would be expanded in later generations.
Anyways, I really don’t see the point of buying a iPad. A laptop is much better. Sure, the iPad is more portable, but the portability in my opinion is not worth the price.

Not until they release the second version. Based on Apples product cycles for other products, this will probably be between September 2009 and January 2010.

Who knows, maybe in the future, but only time will tell. Apple is known for releasing things slowly. Milking the money out of its consumers each GB of the way!

not for now. They’ve just announced it, and anyways, apple seems to have gone flash memory on consumers concerning mobile products (i.e. ipods, excluding ipod classic, and ipod touch). 64gb is laughable for people who really want to store video to watch on a screen that big. To increase flash memory to >64GB is cost-prohibitive for Apple to profit from their infamous “Apple tax.” get a netbook, or even a cheap laptop for any price that would be comparative to any of the iPads, and you’ll be MUCH better off.

Yes they will eventually, when SSD drives become cheaper and/or they can fit more then one flash memory chip in.
