    @ Everyone there is in fact been Videophone communications now in the U.S for the last 4 years! I actually market the service and my company has just launched our 5th Generation Phone. The great thing is we OWN our Network . The faulty part with the cellphone carriers is the over usage of data vs. the capability…

    The technology is AMAZING though, we are in a transition pretty exciting

    @thechadwasgreat So what would your suggestion be? Should Apple have built facetime so it works over 3G, even if the quality is total garbage and it would clog up the networks?

    @thechadwasgreat Sure, so you’re saying it’s the mobile network that’s faulty, not the phone itself, correct? I think it’s faulty, and look to the cell phone providers, not Apple for that kind of change.

    @jmurphrocks15 we’re actually addressing the same exact thing: limitations in the U.S. mobile landscape. difference is you’re explaining it while I’m complaining about it. I’m not just bagging on the IPhone (and it sounds like you’re a user)–it’s a good phone– I’m asking why is it that my friends in Japan and Korea have been using a feature like that for several years now and we’re just getting the first phone that even has that feature?

    @thechadwasgreat Using facetime over a 3G network would clog it up even more, and the quality would be absolutely terrible. There really isn’t an alternative besides making 4G coverage everywhere, which isn’t a real option right now.

    @imadefrumpy actually, since you have to be on a wi-fi network to use face time, it’s technically a shitty webcam as far as usability. never mind tony’s ambiguous sexual orientation… THAT is gay.
