This reminds me so much of my first love 50 years ago. I have never forgotten her. We were so in love at ages 17 and 16. We made wonderful plans for the future. I am totally responsible for not making our future dreams come true.
Linda, I am so, so sorry. Every time I hear this song of think of you, of us and what could have been. I hope you can forgive me.

I’m stunned, and embarrassed. Dan’s been gone for 2 years, and I did not know. God I must be getting old and brain-dead. To anyone who cares, I truly sorry. This is one of my all-time favorite songs.

I don’t think I fully appreciated the beauty & thoughtfulness of this song when it first came out as I was only a young man, but now I must admit – it touches my heart. As it seems in life sometimes, you only really appreciate some things when they are gone.
