Exclusive video!

hauntingly dark and pain-etched song--which he helped write--in early 1951 during a dark and desperate period in his soap opera-like relationship with actress Ava Gardner ("The Last Goddess" was "the" love of his life). So great was Sinatra's grief and deep his despair over losing her that her attempted to end his own life on two separate occasions. 1. Bernard1422 said it right. I have been listening to Frank Sinatra since the mid
40s and no one comes close. Thank
the lord he placed Nelson Riddle and Frank in the same time period.

  2. indeed.unimaginable for me as well. thank-you Shamrocked4Ever. total respect.

  3. I beg to differ. Sinatra is without a doubt incredible, but you really cannot compare this version to the original by Billie Holiday. I guess its just different tastes/opinions!

  4. You really can not compare Sinatra to Billie Holiday. Her voice is not as clear and her emotion doesn’t change in ANY song she sings. Sinatra on the other hand is perfect. There are many others who have truely perfect voices. She’s has her own wonderful sound. You just can’t compare it to his.

  5. So emotional and close to my present feelings

  6. No singer in the World came even close to Frank Sinatra, in every song sounds honesty.

  7. There is no one better. Damn Holiday

  20. True words…now i am in depression

  21. Sorry there is no comparison to Frank’s version…The depth, the emotion, the range..he is pouring his heart out..Holiday sounds flat by comparison.

  23. very touching and perfectly dominating .
