Yup. That wouldn’t be a problem no matter whether or not you’re jailbroken.

Would I be able to get all of my info (contacts and everything) back if I have backed my phone up?
February 4th, 2010 - 14:53
I’m on my third one too (first couple had VERY poor battery life and hardware issues).
The worst case scenario is that you’ll have to restore to factory settings, which won’t take more than 15 minutes.

bahahaha
Ok thanks, that would be really cool.
I’m still debating, with my luck I will fuck something up haha. I’m already on my third iPhone

iPhone OG? Original Gangster iPhone?
Anyway, of course you should jailbreak it! There isn’t really any reason not to. Tons of cool jailbroken mods. I’m going to make a video of my top 5 jailbroken mods and apps soon.

I have an iPhone OG and, of course, it is out of warranty already.
So is there any reason to NOT jailbreak it?
Because if my phone was to somehow break, Apple would no longer fix it anyway, correct?
I’m just not sure if I should jail break it or not, if you could give me some advice I would really appreciate it!
February 4th, 2010 - 16:37
No, you do not have to do a restore.
February 4th, 2010 - 17:17
i have a iphone 3gs and im already on 3.1.2 do i have 2 restore it or can i just do it and does it really work 4 the 3gs
February 4th, 2010 - 17:41
Hells yes. Jailbreaking is always worth it. You just have to make sure that you never reboot your device unless you want to rejailbreak, which isn’t really a big deal, unless you aren’t near a computer.
February 4th, 2010 - 17:54
ok then, do you think its worth it cause of the teather?
February 4th, 2010 - 18:37
They’re working on it… These things aren’t easy and take a lot of time.
February 4th, 2010 - 18:59
Are they going to?
February 4th, 2010 - 19:41
No… That’s just the way it is for those devices. Nobody has created an untethered jailbreak yet.
February 4th, 2010 - 20:35
Is there any way to stop the tethered reboot?
February 4th, 2010 - 20:54
How did you get apps from Installous/Install0us if you’re not jailbroken (I’m assuming you’re not jailbroken because you don’t have blackra1n on your device or something).
February 4th, 2010 - 21:02
my ipod was running slow after downloading a couple apps from installous so i restarted my ipod but i hadnt downloaded blackra1n yet so after my ipod was off i went ahead and downloaded it ran the program and then it sais blackra1n has encountered a problem and needs to close i have reinstalled it several times restarted my computer after installing it and i tried it on a different computer but same problem im not sure where the problem is but im pretty sure its not from the computer im runninxp
February 4th, 2010 - 21:13
No. Just restore to the stock firmware and wait until someone figures this stuff out.
February 4th, 2010 - 22:03
thats so dumb. anyway to avoid this? becuase if my phone gets stuck i will need to reboot and then if im not near a computter i wont be able to use my phone. thanks for ur reply
February 4th, 2010 - 22:59
Since it’s tethered, you have to rejailbreak whenever you restart your phone.
February 4th, 2010 - 23:56
You’re on a newer 3GS with the new bootrom, so you’re considered a tethered jailbreak. Just don’t turn it off.
February 5th, 2010 - 00:38
i have a 3gs and after doing this, it tells me to connect to itunes everytime i reboot my iphone. help?
February 5th, 2010 - 01:12
If sn0w doesn’t show up then you’re either on a iPod Touch or a iPhone 2G. You can either find a custom IPSW download that is already “hacktivated” for unlocked phones, or you can find an official SIM (ie. AT&T) to get it going, then install BootNeuter from Cydia (assuming you’re on a iPhone 2G).
February 5th, 2010 - 01:54
can u do this without sim card and it appears no snow on that blackra1n thing
February 5th, 2010 - 02:05
Thanks, this was just too easy!
February 5th, 2010 - 02:42
No.
