How do you transfer music from your iPod to iTunes library?
Reader question: I need to backup all my music, but all my old music that's currently on my iPod is in my dead old computer. Help?

Step 1: Transfer your songs to a folder on your computer e.g. “C:/music” with a iPod Transfer tool.
I use Tansee iPod audio video Transfer from http://www.gutensoft.com/Utilities/Tansee-iPod-audio-video-Transfer.htm
If the music you want to backup is in your computer, just proceed to Step 2 directly.
Step 2: Run iTunes, click “File”, click “Add Files to Library…” or “Add Folder to Library…” , select the songs in folder C:/music.
Or simply run iTunes, Drag your files in “C:/music” to your iTunes music Library.

Hey, there is a tool called iPod 2 iTunes that can help transfer music from ipod to iTunes directly. It works for me.
http://www.gutensoft.com/Utilities/iPod-2-iTunes.htm
Note: It supports for the latest 6th generation iPods,
but excluding iPod Touch/iPhone.
