How do I update my Ipod touch to software 4.0? It says 3.1.3 is the latest update available.?
Reader question: When I plug into Itunes and check for updates it says 3.1.3 is the latest when 4.0 is out.

3.1.3 is the update. 4.0 is what they call it for Iphone. So 3.1.3 is the same as 4.0 !

iOS 4 is only available to generation 2 and 3 iPod touches and 3G, 3Gs and 4 iPhones. 3.1.3 is the highest firmware update for first generation iPhones and iPod Touches. If you do have a 2g or 3g iPod touch and iTunes is still not updating, use the link provided below to manually download (follow the instructions provided). iPod version types can be found here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1353
