How do I get Verizon prepaid service on a BlackBerry?
Reader question: I have a prepaid Verizon account and I have a refurbished Blackberry from a friend. I tried to activate Blackberry on my prepaid account, but it refuses. How can I override this?

You Will NOT be able to. The reason is that the Verizon Prepaid is on a different system which is different then their mainstream CDMA system. Our Site has some articles on this issue.

Verizon prepaid does not allow smartphones of any kind including Blackberries on their network. Your best bet is to go to Page Plus. They also sell airtime on the Verizon prepaid network but they allow ANY Verizon phone on, including your BB. You will not have BB service though. Get Opera mini so you can have internet. Your BB browser will not work. Also, Page Plus has a new unlimited talk/text/20 meg prepaid plan. They are the best unknown prepaid carrier out there.
