How do I get music from my ipod to my computer?
Reader question: I recently had to erase everything from my computer, and now have no music on itunes.
If I plug my ipod in, will all my music disappear?
Please help, I don't want to lose all my music!

You don’t need a program you can do it through the file option on your PC. here is how I do it.
Double click the ‘ipod control’ file.
1) Go to the tools option.
2) Select folder option from the drop down menu.
3) Click the view tab
4) Select the view hidden file option.
5) Now plug in the ipod.
6) Open ‘my computer.’
7) Double click the ipod HD.
9) Double click the music file.
10) All the ‘F’ files contain the ipod files.
11) The files are all coded so you’ll have to hunt for the file you want or copy the music file and paste it in your PC.
Then import the files into itunes. The files will be decoded by itunes and then you will be able to locate the file you want.
There is also a program called floola, that is free

This program is similar to itunes but you can also use it extract files from the ipod.

Hi Kate, if all your songs were purchased from iTunes store, try “Transfer Purchases” option. See some tips at http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1329?viewlocale=en_US
If some of your songs/videos were from other sources, like CD, then you need to use an iPod transfer program to help you. For a better transfer, I recommend Tansee iPod Transfer. It ensures proven easy, entire and secure transfer
