How do I enter phone numbers in my computer, then transfer them to my blackberry curve?

Reader question: I just got a blackberry curve and I want an easier way to enter contact information. Is there any way I can enter the information on the computer (in which program?) then transfer them into the blackberry? I have a lot of contacts to enter, and I think using the larger keyboard would be so much easier.

  1. Magic.

  2. I’m assuming this is for personal use and not on a corporate enterprise server? If so, you can synchronize contacts between your BB and programs like outlook easily but you must run the Blackberry Desktop Manager. This controls your synchronization. The instructions with your Curve show how to do this…if you don’t have them both your carrier and the blackberry.com website have extensive help and FAQ sections that address this.

  3. You can use the BB Desktop Manager software to synch your address book from various programs like Outlook, Outlook Express and even Yahoo mail to the BB. Enter the contacts info into the application. Install and configure the Desktop Manager software to run a synch in the application you are using and then synch the BB via a USB cable.

  4. You need the blackberry software in order to do any transferring from the computer to your phone. It should have come with your phone (in box) when you bought it.
