How can you avoid having arguments in a relationship?
Reader question: I know that arguments are inevitable in a relationship, but how can I/we avoid the petty ones. Should I be passive and concede most of the time if it means salvaging our relationship?

to avoid the petty arguments, before you get worked up about whatever it is you sense you are going to have an argument about, take a deep breath and calm down. then, listen to your partner’s thoughts and calmly say yours.
