How can i put ringtones into my samsung rant?

Reader question: I have a Samsung Rant from Sprint, I have been trying to put ringtones in it ba connecting the phone to my pc and putting them in the "My Ringtones" folder in the memory card. Once I have them in there I don't know how to set them as ringtones. Can anyone help me? Is there anything i'm doing wrong?
