@JumpingJamberie you are absolutely right………#5 team in the country losing to a I-AA school…. you’re probably a dumb michigan fan
January 22nd, 2010 - 15:13
FCS does not rule….. that’s why they are FCS and not FBS
January 22nd, 2010 - 15:44
Appalachain St. is 1-AA! Michigan is #5!!!! This was the first time a 1-AA school beat a ranked team
January 22nd, 2010 - 16:33
Amen!! FCS Rules! Players with class and brains!!
January 22nd, 2010 - 16:58
this was not an upset.. give me a break.
January 22nd, 2010 - 17:36
i was lovin every second of this go ILLINI lol
January 22nd, 2010 - 17:50
i disagree. this game shouldnt be considered a huge upset.
Appalachian State is the best team in the division 1-AA. they’re really good
fuck whoever thinks it is the biggest upset ever
January 22nd, 2010 - 18:38
it just goes to show, rankings don’t matter, anyone can lose at anytime
January 22nd, 2010 - 19:18
definantly not the biggest upset, they were #5 and lost to app who is a good team maybe biggest upset of 2007, but not all time
January 22nd, 2010 - 19:43
youre a dumbass i applied to both and much more people actually get into appalachian…its not even close….especially if youre applying engineering to state…more dumb people definetely get into app…trust me i live in nc and am in college
January 22nd, 2010 - 20:12
thats bullshit… 100 of my 236 senior class members got into NC State… and about 30 are going THIS year!
there’s 3 going to App from my school
January 22nd, 2010 - 21:08
Well titled. I agree, except I think this was the biggest upset of all sports history.
January 22nd, 2010 - 21:38
Michigan also paid App State $400,000 for this. HAHAHA!
January 22nd, 2010 - 22:15
no i almost went there though …i could see app possibly passing them in the future though
January 22nd, 2010 - 22:26
you go to app?? so do i, im in frank hall on the west side of campus. yeah i got accepted into NC State and app. my sister went to state. true, the applicant pool for state might be more competitive. idk, app is definitely getting close to state. i could see app passing state in the future if the trend continues.
January 22nd, 2010 - 23:05
yeah i know but nc state is better trust me im a student…the acceptance rate is based on the quality of the student applying…i applied to both and got into app but not state.. luckily i got into my first choice
app is a very good upcoming school though
January 22nd, 2010 - 23:07
i take back what i said; i dont think anyone knows for sure. colleges look for different things in their students. however, statistically, NC State officially accepts 59% of applicants. App accepts 58%. the lowest average SAT score for App is 1590, for NCSU it’s 1580.of course we are leaving out a lot of other things. however, if you go to collegeboard and compare universities, you will see how close they are.
January 22nd, 2010 - 23:56
sorry bud but nc state is still harder to get into than app
January 23rd, 2010 - 00:38
ahahaha, michigan, what a joke that year
January 23rd, 2010 - 01:01
very true. dixon was a beast, but then he fucked up later in the year. =P lol. it was a good day for oregon.
January 23rd, 2010 - 01:52
remember though oregon with a healthy dixon were arguably the best team that year, i could understand the trick play theory if it was close game, but oregon won by 31
January 23rd, 2010 - 02:32
they were still shaken up lol. plus oregon used some trick play. i want to say they used the statue of liberty play, i could be wrong.
January 23rd, 2010 - 03:08
well, that plan didn’t work out too well now did it? ^_^
January 23rd, 2010 - 03:08
this is like a watching a train wreck for michigan fans you wanna stop but you CANT!!! its like being a redsox fan and watching buckner
January 23rd, 2010 - 04:03
i mean as far as public universities go, it has always been ranked second in the state, behind unc. which means it was harder than unc wilmington, asheville, pembroke, greensboro, charlotte, east carolina, western, and app. Wake forest and duke are private schools. this year app passed nc state though. app got over 16,000 applicants with 3,000 spaces available.
