Flu Attack! How A Virus Invades Your Body
Exclusive video!
When you get the flu, viruses turn your cells into tiny factories that help spread the disease. In this animation, NPR's Robert Krulwich and medical animator David Bolinsky explain how a flu virus can trick a single cell into making a million more viruses. Is the word “receptor” too much for the npr audience?

@davidbauman16 What? Seriously? I am a scientist of many respects (at heart; not certified) AND graphic designer.. plus actor, writer, performer (great narrator/voice-actor).. And I was very pleased with this. It’s called ANALOGY… .

We were laughing about this in Biology class, we just finished the first part of the coursew, so we (should) know what all the parts are called, and here’s this guy giving an ‘informative’ video on it, and was calling the receptors ‘keys’ and what not.
May 25th, 2010 - 07:55
This is so stupid. Why do you insult people’s intelligence? Keys and “thingys?” they’re called receptors….. why is NPR acting like retards? I’m all for understandabl e stuff, but this explains nothing why cells behave the way they do. The NPR guy clearly has no idea about viruses.

Nice video, except for the doofus narrator who seems to think words like “receptor”, “polymerase”, and “macrophage” are a little over his audience’s head
