Thanx. Fixed the choppy mkv 1080p playback for me. Videos now play smooth and no error message.

Thank you for your help.
I followed your video and made an archive with the 2 version of d3dx9.dll so it’s not needed to download all directx files from microsoft.
You can get it here:

@kiehlster: Yeah, that is what I did after reading you comment Sir and it worked like a charm. It was easy to do then the video method and it would have (I suppose) updated other DirextX components too as a bonus
Thank for the tip

EASY SOLUTION:
In the app, hit “View”, then “Options”, then under “Playback” hit “Output”. Under “Directshow Video” change it to “System Default”. That should fix it. If not, try other options under “Directshow Video”. These are each different engines to play the video – some your system supports (has drivers installed for), some not. Try a few.

MUCH MORE SIMPLIER SOLUTION
Step 1. Open folder where MPC-HC is installed (for x86 it defaults to C:Program FilesMPC HomeCinema) with your explorer.
Step 2. Make a copy any of DLL to this folder (smaller=better), I’m using Windowssystem32winrsmgr.dll (for x64 version of MPC-HC make sure you choose x64 DLL).
Step 3. Rename the that extra DLL to d3dx9_41.dll

Thanks for the help wouldn’t it be better if you just uploaded the .dll file so people don’t have to download a 100mb package?
