4 lights is a failiure with the plug ins so you just gotta either replace the plugs or just make sure there all in right and all that
January 25th, 2010 - 21:45
one question… do you really need the A/V cable, cause i don’t have one…. I think i have a HDMI somewhere, but thats it.

Yeah it does my xbox died on me last night but this is the only solution i have found that will safely work if you dont mind breaking the warranty or have no other options.

i haave done this 3 time now…
2 days after i get the rrod again… stupid ass microsoft this.. why make it so shitty… get a grip bill gates… you got the money to make this system better !
January 26th, 2010 - 00:48
Roycesboy the reason IS cause you’re NOT MEANT TO LET IT GET TO 2 RED RINGS!!
What you’re MEANT to do is PLUG THE FAN IN Then take a thin piece of cardboard and use it to block the air to the white vent from the GPU HEATSYNC (the low flat one) so that the fan can cool the CPU, but not GPU. Now leave it running for 40 minutes. Then switch it off. Let it cool right back to room temperature. What this does is gets the GPU burning hot and reflows all the solder. THIS STEP IS VITAL. Now it’ll work!

Is that thermal paste for the procesor?
January 26th, 2010 - 02:12
can u tell me why my xbox is not getting hot enough to get two red lights?
January 26th, 2010 - 03:03
i did all of this stuff but now i have 2 red lights
January 26th, 2010 - 03:32
ok firstly this video is basically correct the guy is right about everything he does but what he fails to tell you is that it doesnt always work, sometimes the xbox 360 burnts out and theres no way to recover it thats why microsoft sometimes replace your xbox 360 with a brand new one its over heated, ok firstly here i can see that the console that had rrod aint the same as the one with green lights at the end look at 7:03 and 8:10 the black pen marker has moved lol magic huh lol
