The tesla is built for something completely different and so is the Karma... this is the future of motoring and its the savior for our gasoline powered cars. if everyone on the road were driving the Tesla it wouldnt make sense b/c our world is built around the car as we know it we drive until the gas depletes, we fill up and drive more with the tesla u drive a few feet and u charge the car over night.. we would go backwards in time. you guys cant compare this car to the tesla. This car is great to see and maybe to own if you had the money. I was looking a Popular Science magazine and was just amazed that about 1600 customers have preordered the car at 88,000 dollars. Talk about buying a Bmw or Mercedes Benz Luxury cars. The fact is that most electric cars are still basically hybrids with old fashioned gas engines at their heart. And the batteries, they weigh half a ton if not more and recharging is a 6 hour process compared to a 5 minute gas stop. We won't have gas forever but we won't have a realistic alternative any time soon either. The real future is in lightweight efficiency like the smart car.
