@wateverwill it’s not a game…all you do is press X, real hard battles
July 30th, 2010 - 14:39
what the fuck is wrong with you? this isn’t a game! it’s a movie, all you do is walk for 10 steps, then get more boring story
you suck

@ArchaicNinjaStudios
Unreal Engine would of solved all of Square-Enix’s problems as well (just like Sakaguchi used for Lost Odyssey and Blue Dragon) but of course instead of doing that Square felt the need to make there own engine which in the end was for nothing with the way they didn’t even match Lost Odyssey’s scale and content.

Yea thats exactly the point you don’t feel the story at all being connected with you which is extremely unfortunate considering that FFXIII’s characters seemed like people you want to connect with but couldn’t because story and gameplay wise it just seemed so casual so to speak especially compared to the older titles. Its unfortunate but whats done has been done I just hope Square-Enix learns from there mistakes for once but its not seeming like it.

@hec2006 It kinda killed the feel for final fantasy games. Like theres a formula. Setting up the story pulling in you, boring at times, really hard boss fight, easy travel around level up, get an airship halfway or 3 quarters through the game, then fantastic ending. I didn’t get any of that from playing it. Your “quest” is to save Serah while finding out your own fate. I never feel for any of the characters so how should i be excited about finding my fate and saving someone i dont know?

the real brains behind the FF series really was…Its the unfortunate truth
July 30th, 2010 - 17:03
Um yea anybody who thinks this should be in the upper echelon of FFs is crazy seriously this game losing a lot of the appeal of the old titles (and don’t think I haven’t played FFXIII cause i’ve logged 100 hours into the game so I know). Unfortunately FFXIII is a major casualized FF title and any veteran of playing the series like me should be majorly disappointed with this game. The fact Lost Odyssey came out 2 years before this game and did what FFXIII should of done goes to show who

@mangafreak29 but u say you enjoyed it, so why does it HAVE to have all the classic ff things. why cant it be different and new? if this was titled something else and wasnt part of the series, people would be more happy and i think its ridiculous tbh. square have made an epic game but they are getting so much negative feedback from blind nubs.

@Hikayuhuy hence the “about” 6 years
July 30th, 2010 - 18:10
@wateverwill if it gives you peace of mind i enjoyed the game to an extreame, and i love the game as a piece of art, im not sure how many people really realized what a pice of art the game really is! it is just that the story could have been thicker ( it had a great plot but they didnt exploit it as much as they could have) the game was linear, not prob to me but others, yes. and it lacks the simple things that make FF final fantasy, mini games, mogles, and the classic music is gone.
July 30th, 2010 - 18:13
@wateverwill actually , 5 . 1 xtra year is to port it to 360 version . about 3 years is spent on the engine .
July 30th, 2010 - 18:45
@mangafreak29 but why cant people just play the game as a linear game and stop wanting it to be an open world. square spent about 6 years making this game, these are the people that made the series and made it so popular. Square might of meant for it to be linear, so why cant people just TRY to enjoy it. FUCK SAKE
July 30th, 2010 - 19:41
@wateverwill well the game was a bit TOO linear and the story was great but only given to you in small portions that where wide spred from each outher, also the ending to the game did not give players the proper closure thay deserved, leaving behind plenty of loose ends and questions. The game is great but could have been better, it deserves exactly an 8.5

deserves 10/10 camera is not laggy btw dunno what this guy is on about.
July 30th, 2010 - 20:59
Hey thanx for ur help and i also wish square enix woul make a cloud like female character that would be awesome
July 30th, 2010 - 21:17
@Lazar3451 They wanted to make a female character like Cloud, I don’t think they succeeded at all, they should have just given her her own personality tbh. Most of this game, in retrospect pissed me off.

@SparkyWifi i agree with most of your point, except for the opening up in the later chapters, chapter 11 is the only open one, and even then, you’re restricted to what you cand o due to the Crystarium progression, furthermore you have to go there after you completed the game, so there is only one open bit, thats all. Chapter 12 and 13 are linear like the chapters before, you get vibe that its opening up, but it really isn’t.
July 30th, 2010 - 22:11
@keeenu666 Yeah it gets annoying sometimes, especially when you reach role levels fr each stage, and still realise that you’ve filled out all you can, but you’re still too weak, I used to be able to level up and everything, I think if they keep this similar system, but not make it so limited it would be good.
July 30th, 2010 - 22:47
@RaiderX0196 I would say this is as good as 10, not the worst, nor is it the best, but a remake of FF7 would be superb, especially since not everyone has played it, as long as the world is not linear, additions which expand the enjoyment of the game and the same story, then that would make the best game of all time.

@MrDocNotloc Well of course, he is black.

@RaiderX0196 No way! I didn’t play nor FF 13 nor FF 7 yet, but I definetly don’t want to see more of FF 7 at this point! It is EVERYWHERE! @_@
