  1. I couldn’t believe it! I hesitated for a long time to buy any HDMI cables that would cost less than $50 per my belief that quality was measured by its price. Was I so wrong. I already own a “Monster 1000HD Ultra-High Speed HDMI Cable 6 ft” which I have attached on my Samsung Blu-Ray player to my HDTV. A week ago I purchased the HP 23″ HD LCD Monitor model# w2338h which has an HDMI input for my PC. I also purchased Sony’s newest 6.6′ 1080p HDMI cable at $40 to attach my new monitor. The picture was simply awesome. Upon reviewing the many reviews here at amazon.com about a “HDMI Cable-2 Meter (6.6 ft) Gold Plated v1.3 HDMI to HDMI Cable with Ferrite Cores” for $7.99, I decided to buy it and give it a try. I figured that if it did not work as good as my Sony cable, it would just be $8 lost. A week later I got this cable and I immediately unplugged the Sony HDMI cable and plugged the $8 HDMI in its place. To my amazement I was shocked in disbelief that such a cheap cable could deliver the same high quality picture to my PC. Yet, I was determined to find a flaw. So I went through the trouble of unplugging my $130 Monster cable from my home theater system and compare it. I found that the $130 Monster cable looked just as good as the $40 Sony cable and as just as good as my newest $8 cable. Interference on any of my 3 cables is non-existent. I am now a believer. Going forward, I will now buy this $8 HDMI cable for all my HD connections.

  2. I had considered going with a competitor (Monoprice), but then I thought wait… let’s check Amazon and look for a product that’s Prime eligible. Enter HDMI King’s cable.

The product works great — don’t even consider going with a higher-priced option when this serves the same need. The salesman at Best Buy will try and talk you into a Monster cable or some other ‘name brand’ — don’t do it. This will give your PS3 everything it needs to output in glorious HD.

  3. We recently purchased a PS3 and wanted to hook it up via HDMI. As I searched for a cable, I came across ones that ranged from $5 to nearly $100. I was quite baffled at the difference and read many reviews for each product. The conclusion I came away with was that a high dollar cable was simply not needed. This seems to be a common ploy with many of the component and HDMI cables nowadays and is simply ridiculous.

We ordered the cable, received it 2 days later via Amazon Prime, and hooked up our new PS3 without any issues or problems with the display, etc. I am very happy that I did not spend over ten bucks and am thankful to all the other reviewers who helped me realize this cable was all that I needed.

UPDATE: I did some additional & extensive research online, including information provided by experts and cable providers in the field (e.g. Blue Jeans Cable) and my assessment above is accurate in regards to cables less than 15 feet in length. The only time you need a higher quality cable is when it will meet or exceed that limit, otherwise the signal will start degrading. The same principles apply to many other types of cable. The degradation can include lines, snow, blurry images, etc.

  4. I bought 2 of these and a HDMI switch for use between my HD Dish receiver and my TV. The TV had only one HDMI port, already connected to a DVD unit. As soon as I turned the equipment on, there were problems. No input, then purple, pink, or green screens, then a perfect picture. The cycle would repeat at random. I thought it was a connection problem and I spent 30 minutes trying to re-seat the connectors before driving to Walmart for replacements. I tried replacing one, but the problem persisted. I replaced the other, the problem continued. I had to replace both cables to fix the problem. Given the large number of 5 star reviews, I would give this product the benefit of the doubt and assume that these cables just don’t play well with HDMI switchers. On a positive note, the vendor, HDMI King, has great customer service and refunded the the price in full without question.

  5. This is my first purchase from HDMIKing. My background is technical with an MSEE Degree in Electrical Engineering with additional courses beyond and many years of experience. I am a member of the IEEE (Institute of Electrical & Electronic Engineers) and have been for many years.

The delivery from HDMIKing was fast and accurate. HDMIKing provided the following information that influenced my purchase:

    1. Resolution – 1080p and beyond

    2. EMF reduction – gold plating, double shielding and ferrite cores

    3. Compatibility – various specs

The product performed well beyond my expectations in both video & audio in my new HD LCD TV and the price was good. The HDMIKing description of the article looked good and appears to be accurate. The cable increased the perfomance beyond what the Component cable provided for video & audio. I recommend this cable for any hardware with HDMI capablity.

Completed unsolicited and worthless random fact:
On 15 April 1912 the SS Titanic sunk on her maiden voyage and over 1,500 people died. Fourteen years earlier a novel was published by Morgan Robertson which seemed to foretell the disaster. The book described a ship the same size as the Titanic which crashes into an iceberg on its maiden voyage on a misty April night. The name of Robertson’s fictional ship was the Titan.
