		<description>That is going to be up to the owner you if you buy the car if it were me i would change it as for i drive every thing i own hard and it would be cheaper and less time consuming to change it at the 100,000 mile mark but not knowing how you drive is a whole different story</description>

97 2.2 or 2.4 both have a timing chain and gears
no timing belt 
these engines and trans-axles have proven to be very reliable

owned 97 4 door  had  149,000 miles when we traded in
son had a 99 2 door 170,000 when we sold it had to replace air conditioning compressor at 150,000
both had to have alternators replaced in the 125,000 area which was over 6 years on each</description>
