This was perfect for me. I was still using the old speakers that came with my desktop and only using the built-in speakers with my netbook. Now, I can listen via my stereo system, TV, radio, etc. I was pleasantly surprised by the sound quality. I was not expecting the quality to be as good as it is.
Set up was very simple for me. It really was just plug and play. I did not need the installation discs. I hope it is that easy for everyone! You should keep in mind that the better the audio system you are using, the better the sound will be.
If you are looking for simple set-up, nice sound quality, and a sleek design, this is the bundle for you!

The Soundblaster is relatively easy to set up and the soundquality (PC to audio) is excellent, both for recorded music and streaming radio. I will buy another receiver to connect a second audio system.

I had a lot of trouble trying to get the AirPort to stream from iTunes to my stereo. I attributed that to the fact that it’s an Apple product trying to interface with iTunes for Windows. I was excited to find out about this Creative product, specifically engineered for Windows. I unloaded the box, which had very few parts, and opened the manual. All I had to do was insert a USB dongle transmitter in my computer, attach a receiver to my stereo, and double-click on a song in iTunes. Great! Except, I did that, and nothing happened. The white LED (which is excessively bright) on the receiver was blinking. According to the manual, that meant there was no contact between the transmitter and receiver. As suggested in the button, I pressed the hidden “contact” button on the dongle, and was rewarded with a solid white LED light. But I still couldn’t get a song on iTunes to play on my stereo.
At that point, I read a few Amazon reviews of the product, and found out that, despite what the manual said, you had to install the Creative software that accompanied it. Great, did it! Then none of the many, many programs that it added worked, except for a Vista widget, and even that didn’t let me stream music to my stereo. At that point, I gave up. I have a two-year-old and limited patience and time for this sort of thing. This product, and I think iTunes streaming wirelessly to a stereo, is remarkably still not ready for prime time. Pass.

Loving the Creative products… From my Aurvana noise-cancelling headset, my new “memory catcher”..the Vado HD, and of course the Sound Blasters. Set up was simple with my windows based PC using the new software load. The Sound quality is great and I love the remote. I would recommend this product to anyone.

I was somewhat concerned when I read a few of these Amazon reviews. Seems like a few of the earliest adopters had real configuration/set up issues. So when I got the Creative Sound Blaster, I decided to call customer service first to see if I could learn any of the tricks to avoid any issues. Apparently, [according to the Customer Service rep] the first few hundred of these Sound Blasters went out with set up issues. Creative then relaunched the product with a new software load, and the setup issues were any ugly memory. [Fire the product launch & QA teams Creative!]
Fortunately, my setup was with the new software load and therefore painless, [the CSR told me that all the config-troubled units had been taken off the shelves at this point]. In less than 8-10 mins I had music playing from my iTunes account and some of my favorite internet radio stations [[...] and [...]]. I own two Squeezebox Booms in our vacation home. They work great. But I am a frugal guy – so I wanted to try the less expensive alternative, [Please don't get me started at how expensive Sonos is...]. The good news is that the Creative product has better sound quality and is a much better value. Better sound is probably a result of Creative’s ownership of Cambridge Soundworks [which I have always liked even more than Bose for subjective sound quality].
Over the last six-12 months, I have bought a few of the Creative products [Vado HD, Aurvana noise-cancelling headset, and the Sound Blasters]. I love the value-to-quality ratio of Creative. In the last year – they really seem to have turned themselves around. Good on you Creative. Good luck all.
