I was 6 going on 7 when it debuted. Don’t know how old I was when i was allowed to watch it. I do remember it was a HUGE DEAL for my much older siblings. If stats were kept on class song choice for H S Seniors, “It’s so hard to say goodbye” would probably be in the top 5 most popular EVER. As a child I remember all kinds of kids singing that song for talent shows and special occasions through the late 70′s for real.

Love the song at the funeral but the ending is so sad but I REMEMBER when I went
to the movie to see this during the same time my friend my was killed over
something foolish so I CAN RELATE and it was hard to say goodbye ,this movie
always reminds of that time

i like the song at the end I’LL BE THERE i get chills still hearin it at times even on the radio oldies station.and WBLS 107.5 in new york and philly power 99 late night i hear it other night. forgettin who sing it though.
