Classic Game Room HD – STREET FIGHTER THE MOVIE for Playstation PS1 review
Exclusive video!
Classic Game Room HD reviews STREET FIGHTER THE MOVIE the video game for Playstation 1 PS1. Street Fighter the Movie was released in 1994 at the height of the Street Fighter II arcade machine craze. SF2 would pack arcades with gamers waiting for a chance to play as Guile or Chun Li, but would the SF movie pack theaters? Um, no. Starring Jean Claude Van Damme and a cast of other actors dressed like teenagers at a halloween party, Street Fighter the movie sets new standards for "so bad that it's good". This CGR review of Street Fighter the movie the video game has gameplay from the Playstation PS1 game, Street Figther the Movie showing game play in action.
It takes 8.5 minutes for light to get from the sun to earth.

He says this is before CGI and the costumes suck. Um… which modern movies is he watching that have CGI costumes. That is just a fail in any book.

Lmao! Yeah, of course I’m kidding!

The thing is simple , the movie sucked donkey balls , I rented it 2 weeks ago and I almost got asleep cuz of how boring it is. If your based ONLY on Van Damme , you got some serious problems ¬¬. I know its a great actor , but he , or NO ONE is awesome on every film he participates. E.g : I’m a fan of Samuel Johnson , Snakes on the plane was awesome , but S.W.A.T wasn’t that great , in fact it was kinda awful , they even made it Blu-Ray to try someone to like it…

Why do people keep thinking the arcade game is the same as the home console game?
March 11th, 2010 - 13:06
yes, bad and yet enjoyable
March 11th, 2010 - 13:25
it can be downloaded for MAME

I would totally buy this game for a laugh but here in the UK, the average Playstation copy of this goes on Ebay for nearly 50 quid sometimes. Crazy.

I don’t understand how this game could be so bad. JUST MAKE STREET FIGHTER! And, y’know, replace the characters with their actor representations.

I generally like CGR but to say that Street Fighter the Movie (Van Damme, Kylie Minogue, etc) is bad is simply wrong, it’s a little B-movie gem, almost as good as ‘Tremors’ or ‘Eight-legged Freaks’ I loved that movie and still do, Van Damme has an awesome speech to the troops, Chun Li is hot, Honda is awesome, Zangief funny Sagat amazing grow up CGR SFTM is AWESOME!!

Capcom developed the home version, it’s basically an updated Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo with different character graphics

Oh my god. That game is so horrible, it’s funny.

I’ve played the arcade and the ps2 version, and I never really understood why it was flamed that much. It’s a decent game, with a quite nice looks considering its release date. And oh, yeah! You can play Kylie Minogue:D
