Chevrolet Camaro Convertible Concept Video by Inside Line

Standing next to the Chevy Camaro convertible concept I ask, loud enough so everyone can hear, if I might rev the car's engine to 4000 rpm, then drop the clutch hard to see what it can do. I'm joking, of course. A little levity to break the tension. But the 6-foot-6, 265-pound GM employee charged with guarding this expensive baby isn't in the mood. "Only if you want to be picking up teeth," he glowers, baring his pearly whites. I have no desire to follow up and ask him if he means rear-axle gear teeth or my teeth. So we meekly climb behind the wheel of the bright Hugger Orange Camaro convertible concept and drive off carefully at the event-prescribed speed limit of 25 mph....

A 67 Shelby Fastback is what I used as inspiration when I built my ’05 GT.. if you want I can email you a picture of it, it came out looking bad ass….
I never liked Chevy, until I saw this car in the movie Transformers….it’s the first time I said I would actually pay money for a GM product..feels alien quite a bit as I have owned 5 mustangs in my lifetime..

I’m not saying that the 2010 Camaro does not please the eyes, I am saying that putting the 1967 Camaro next to the 2010 Camaro does no justice to either of the cars. GM is trying to pull off the modern classic, as did Ford with the Mustang, but in the end you can never effectively recreate the classics of the late 1960s.
All in all, nothing is sexier than a V8 pony car from 1967

I’m not so sure, the 2010 convertible looks hot! Just like in the video is how I would order mine.. the fuel economic 400HP version is the motor of choice as well.

You mean the Nissan GTR? They’re not in the same class, they’re aren’t even in the same school, Riggro. The GTR is a Corvette killer (and I love the Corvette), it’s even as quick as the new Porsche 911 turbo, Ferrari F430, Lamborghi Murcielago and even the $300,000 McLaren SLR. The Camaro is gonna compete (and probably lose) with the new Nissan 370z/Infiniti G37, maybe the Mazda RX8, Musang GT, Dodge Challenger (should be better than those), probably the Boxter, and maybe even Hyundai’s coupe.

Bigboy, I don’t know what part of the country you are in but in Texas they will never take our SUV’s or trucks away from us. I have yet to see a horse trailer behind a Corolla. I have always owned GM and that is all I will ever own. My 91′C1500 had 275,000miles when I traded it. My 91′Lumina had 260,000 when I sold it. My current Pontiac GTP has 178,000 and still going strong. Before you comment about my automotive knowledge, I am a Master Technician and have been in this business for 20 yrs.

Is it any wonder GM is going to fail? With vehicles like the Hummer, full size Trucks and SUV’s, GM is out of touch. We also have a Corvette, a 400 hp, front wheel drive GTO and Impala SS. (WTF) Who would want one of their small cars anyways? With a proven car like the Corolla, even the Hyundai, any thing but a GM!! A top GM executive was heard saying “People will still buy SUV’s, no matter what the price of gas is.” And now this ugly, boxy 4000 lb. monstrosity!
Bye bye GM, you won’t be missed!
