CCTV DVR Digital Video Recorder 4 channel what brand should I use?
Reader question: So I want to install a CCTV DVR security system but not sure what brand should I use, Costco has some for dirt cheap and the best brand Pelco is thousands more for what looks like the same, help.

I know the Pelco brand is very expensive and is more commonly sold to contractors and for high demanding needs of government account and casinos and is over kill for you. The Costco stuff is more of a toy to play with and get some cctv experience with. I think a good middle of the road brand for you is the everfocus ECOR dvr. Includes burner, web viewing and 3 year warranty for $406 has a VGA connection in the back for a computer monitor but you wont know it until you play with it but the software in the unit is so user friendly. Runs on linux so you wont have any problems for years to come.
