Can you have the seasonal flu and H1N1 flu at the same time?
Reader question: Just wondering if you could have the both the H1N1 flu and seasonal flu at the same time. If you could, does it make you sicker?

It is possible but highly improbable. The type of H1N1 going around is so much like the flu its hard to tell. It takes 1 week just to confirm a case and most of the people who have had it was over it before they were even diagnosed.

Yes.
My son, who is 3, is infected with both Type A (H1N1) and Type B (Seasonal) Flu. He has been to the doctor and been tested for both strains.
In my opinion, he is not anymore sick than what he would be if he just had one or the other.

I was told that they arent even considering the seasonal flu any more but grouping it into h1n1.
