Many iPod users have asked this.
It won't be a problem if you use AVCWare iPod to iPod/Computer/iTunes Transfer.
It automatically transfers your iPod and iPhone music, video, playlist, photos back to computer and iTunes. Backup all your music and video in a couple of clicks. Really makes music and videos sharing pretty simple and enjoyable. Wish this can help and good luck.

I think its step by step guide is most helpful.

It is easy to use and you can try it now.

no. whatever is in the itunes, would override the contents of your ipod. it's just one way, though i think you can "manually manage music"
though you could try another software, imtoo ipod computer transfer, works real well. i was able to salvage my ipod contents when my computer crashed! real lifesaver :) highly recommended.
hope this helps! goodluck.

You can try 4Easysoft iPod Manager for Mac

It can import video/audio files to iPod directly without iTunes and transfer iPod video/audio to Mac without any loss.

Once you connect it, the specific info about the devices can be shown: iPod type, iPod capacity, iPod version, serial number, format, and the aavailable space, used space.
3. Quick search
For you to detect iPod files exactly and easily, the “Track Filter” function can categorize the files as Genre, Artist, Album.

No, you cant. What you can do is get BearShare. I believe you can add items from another iPod on to your computer so you can add it to YOUR iPod.
