No. John wrote “I am the Walrus” because he received a letter from a schoolteacher in which the teacher told John that he made his students analyze Beatles lyrics. John thought that was ridiculous and that it would be amazing to write a song so nonsensical that people trying to analyze it would be hopelessly confused. He got some of the lyrics from the images in “Through the Looking Glass” and “Alice in Wonderland,” his favorite childhood books. The first two lines thanks to LSD.
