Bill Maher on Obama-’Chocolate Jesus’; ‘Limousine Liberal’ Charity Events & Left’s Speech Repression

Exclusive video!

(5/24/09) Complete remarks from Bill Maher on the subjects mentioned in the title; plus, swine flu hype, Miss California--Carrie Prejean controversy ("The root problem is that religion is stupid and dangerous"), Sean Hannity's hang-ups, Greg Gutfeld ("Who--Greg Gutfeld--is that a real name?"), Ann Coulter and more. Selected Quotes: "I'm a free speech person and I would say, especially on campuses in the last 10 or 15 years, the repression of speech has come more from the Left." (1:12) "Here's a person (Carrie Prejean) who believes in Satan, as does, I would guess sixty, seventy, eighty percent of this country. This dumb, dumb country believes in demons and some creature with horns and a tail and a pitchfork who's going to make you burn in a mythical place if you don't believe in an imaginary friend." (4:32) "I think the Republican Party--which is at record low levels--that should go away entirely. The Democrats are what the Republicans used to be--a corporatist party that represents big business and doesn't stand up for progressive issues. And then we need a whole new party that is what the Democratic Party used to be." (7:49) Video: CNN's "Reliable Sources" w/ Howard Kurtz

Yeah, he is high and doesn’t know where he is, he fryed too many braincells, but there is no need to take him seriously because he is only a “comedian,” so he can use that and does use that for his defense.

  2. he’s stoned

  3. this guy is confusing he doesnt like conservatives but says he is for freedom of speech but then says liberals are the cause of repression of freedom of speech in campuses? then he says democrats used to be like republicans then says we need to the democratic party the way it used to be? what?

  4. when he mentions jon stewart…Bill ignores it, well kind of. I love Bill AND Jon but do you think that theyre friendly?

  5. da Greg Gutfelt comment was beautiful!!! da way Bill handled it…. hahahah!!!
a stupid comment from a random “person” can only be propelled for a reason if it was true that a certain Greg Gutfelt existed, but its not even that. totaly made up name and comment.

BILL MAHER IS A NATIONAL TREASURE!

  6. Classic moment at 6:29. WHO? Greg Gutfeld?

  7. the biggest american mistake ever made.
By still comparing communism to those dirty russion beardy workers who run around with their mallet, drinking wodka all day, raping women and children and all those cold-war fairytales, Americans failed to see, that communism was based upon the idea, that a country is owned by it’s people and that they should benefit from it, not the government or corporations, that hijacked the country.

since when is caring for other people in your country a bad thing?

  8. I admire Bill Maher. It’s lonely at the top my man !

  9. Fair enough. I meant it in terms of the libertarian party today in the U.S., but it is amazing how often terms change over the years.

  10. Reflex reaction because I keep hearing neo-libertarians touting Adam Smith, or conflating socialist anarchism with communist statism: I just heard someone say MLK was a Communist for instance. I’m not as optimistic as you that most people know what they mean when they use these terms, and I don’t even care much for political discourse.

  11. sorry not sure what happened there. anyway, there is no reason for me to use the term the way it was used years ago. The people viewing this video undoubtedly consider libertarianism as it is perceived politically today, not from the 19th century. It would be counterintuitive for me to use the term in its 19th century meaning. Anyway, I’m not sure what your point was other than a quick history lesson, but Bill Maher is self-admittingly a progressive (in the modern sense of the word lol)

  12. I’m assuming you speak of the libertarian communism and libertarian socialism started sometime in the nineteenth century. Given I am speaking in the 21st century to people of the same time frame (and most likely familiar with the 2, I’m not sure why I would use it in the

  13. You would agree with him if you are a libertarian, if you understand what the word has meant throughout European history. It meant the exact opposite of what the word means in the states today, and what is meant by the neolibertarians.

  14. i appreciate maher’s honesty although i consider myself mainly libertarian so i don’t agree with him on much. i wish this country had more of that- speak your mind without worrying about whether or not its politically correct

  15. bill was spot on with the democrats being corpratist conservatives and the republicans being theocrats

    we need a progressive party

  16. I like Bill Maher a lot, he’s a reasonable man and I respect his beliefs.

  17. “You came here denigrating people because you can’t feel big without trying to put somebody else down.”
“The truth is that most of the homeless are lazy.”
Right. If I say something, I’m being denigrating but if you say something you’re just “telling it like it is.” Hard to believe a conservative would be a hypocrite. Once again, anyone who thinks that most homeless and poor people choose to be homeless or poor is a deluded fool.

  18. “out side won”…I thought maher said he was a progressive? And gun control is the least of our problems, unless you want to talk about what will happen if we attempt gun control. Im a progressive and I think people have the right to their weapons.. Assault rifles, handguns, doesnt matter to me. What he said about the democratic party is true..When this country, which can’t think for itself, moves to the right due to Fox’s propaganda, so does everything else uncluding the democrats..

  19. Look shithead. You came here denigrating people because you can’t feel big without trying to put somebody else down. I was there. I met and talked to these people while i was there. I’ve seen people turn down a job because it didn’t pay enough ($12.00 hr.) here in Knoxville.
You need to take the fucking pollyanna glasses off.
The world isn’t made of rainbows and unicorns dancing in waterfalls surrounded by furry little kitens.
Once again fuck you. Take your putdown act to hell with you.

  20. At 04:44)
I have to say, I flinch every time a christian or any theist actually believes this piffle. Grown up people, in 2000and frikkin10 should know better. But they don’t.
Now put a president (like Bush) in charge of a nuclear warhead, and that makes me nervous. Especially after he proclaimed god told him to bomb the east. That is fucking MEN-TAL!

  21. Way to go Bill with the ‘Dolemite’ reference. LOL

  22. So because you were a lazy-ass, therefore most other homeless people are as well. No, there’s nothing at all wrong with that logic…
And I appreciate your Christian response. Way to turn the other cheek you crybaby. I guess it’s easier to claim the Christian label and beat others over the head with it than to actually be a Christian…

  23. @theunbubba I am not saying it is perfect, It puts the USA to shame though.
seriously look up the statistics. and figure out which way you actually want your economy to turn.

  24. @Sleeper99999 The truth is that most of the homeless are lazy. I used to be one of those people. I got off my ass and made something out of myself.
As for the shot at Christians, fuck you. That’s where you dickheads always go when you have nothing at all. Now go somewhere else and talk about something you know about. Dumbass.

  25. @marsCubed ‘
No homeless people? Since when? There are squatters all over that country. We already have lawnmowers you dolt.
    stop the propaganda.
