The 101st had such objectives as to take and hold the causeways coming inland from UTAH BEACH. not Omaha.

In Saving Private Ryan the first 24 minutes of the flim was voted “the best battle scene of all time” and it is the omaha beach landing.

Then sitting near the open door will expose you to flak shrapnel and could kill you before you even get the the LZ
February 2nd, 2010 - 18:05
wrong spelling of invation
its spelled INVASION
and yes, you guys are correct, the airborne came the night before the attack on omaha beach (D-DAY)
February 2nd, 2010 - 18:10
they took off on the evening of the 5th, but by the time they reached the dz, it was past midnight and already june 6th
February 2nd, 2010 - 18:59
ur right they didnt drop on the 6th but ur wrong about them droping a week before the invation. They droped on the 5th, the day before the invation

@Holret That wasn’t propaganda. That honestly was the truth. The jews were making the economy terrible in Germany by taking their jobs and business. That’s the truth. Now if he did make that up Holret, then how come the Russians killed them at one point. They started making Russia poor also before hitler, don’t you think after being kicked out of Russia and Germany that the jews are the reason? I’m no where near prejudice, but I have read up on my history!

tore not toe
February 2nd, 2010 - 20:00
Pretty harrowing and a lot more realistic than A Bridge Too Far. The shoot downs of the C-47s are horrific.
February 2nd, 2010 - 20:36
if i was in that plane i would just jump off first and hang on tight to my rifle
February 2nd, 2010 - 21:33

February 2nd, 2010 - 22:22
a week?…I think, you mean the night before.
February 2nd, 2010 - 22:54
the drop wasnt on june 6th, that was the main invasion. The airborne went about a week before.
February 2nd, 2010 - 23:48
Anyone heard of tom Burgees? Shot in the face in D-day. Shattered his cheak bone, toe his jaw hinge and exited of the back of his neck.
He was in Easy company. He survived.

February 3rd, 2010 - 02:08
The airbourne were the bravest of the brave….Dick Winters is an absolute hero who had the respect of all his men. You wouldnt c me jumping out a plane at gunfire…i’m a coward!
February 3rd, 2010 - 02:56
i would be holding my gun tight at this point
February 3rd, 2010 - 03:22
@voodoochildxz you dumbass, that was hitler’s propaganda, he blamed the jews for the bad economy and the foreigners for all the crimes in germany.
