Chemically strengthened to be 20 times stiffer and 30 times harder than plastic, the glass is ultradurable and more scratch resistant than ever. It's also recyclable. Retina Display The 960-by-640 backlit LCD display boasts a pixel density of 326 pixels per inch, making it the highest-resolution phone screen ever. To achieve this, Apple engineers developed pixels so small — a mere 78 micrometers across — that the human eye can't distinguish individual pixels. That makes text remarkably sharp and graphics incredibly vivid. IPS technology also provides excellent color and contrast from almost any viewing angle. Look up the ‘Sharp AQUOS SHOT 933SH’ here on YouTube to see a 10 megapixel camera on a phone in action. This was the phone that was to be my alternative should my plans for an iPhone 3G S not pan out. Note that the majority of the videos which answer the search were posted a year ago.

@theapplegenius Sorry mate, but 10 megapixels is becoming almost standard on phones in Japan. These are not smartphones, I hasten to add, but “regular” phones which many Japanese are using to replace digital cameras. Don’t get me wrong, I love my iPhone and would never trade it in for one of those type of phones again, but I’m not making this up to stir up a fight; such phones do exist here and like it or not the iPhone 4 camera is already low-end by such standards.

@richardathome65 U cant have a 10 megapixel camera in a phone unless if dont want any battery left, apple has put the best camera in their phone without taking alot of battery, also it doesnt matter about how many megapixels. I bet the iPhone 4′s camera is better than your camera.

Er… love my iPhone, but Facetime? C’mon. This is hardly a new feature on mobile phones. This has been standard here in Japan for about five years now or longer. Apple caught flac over here because the iPhone couldn’t do video calls. This is not, “Wow, it blew me away!” time; it’s catch-up time for Apple. And a five megapixel camera is half the resolution of my wife’s camera and that’s not so unusual here either. Still want one but those features are hardly revolutionary!

Facetime what a bullshit! I had facetime (video call) in 2001and did not need WIFI to do so….it’s amazing how they can bull shit people over and over again.

they’re trying to make it seem like they invented video calling when Asia has had it for like….5+ years now. Just cause America just caught on to it now doesn’t mean it’s something they “brought” to the world.

apple makes their products seem amazing like theyre gunner change your lives…
its behind in technology, how long has video calling been around? how long have you been able to take high quality videos? how long hove we had hd screens? yeah the screen is good but you dont get anywhere near the pixelation that its trying to show. its not multitasking, its just showing the bar when an apps open.
htc is the way forward. they have new technology, its not as expensive apple and the ui is nicer.

first off i dont like the design of it i hate that metal siding it would be nice if it looked like the 3g in design but slimmer secondly whats the point anymore with the iphone u go to the store u buy the latest and greatest design then 6 mounths later they are allready talking about the design for a new one its such bs because people spend so much on the iphone just for it to be second best they should just make one then wake a few years before selling it people are just waisting so much money

eh? i understand the hype for the iphone and i DO love my iphone and i am getting this on the day of release but, bringing video calling to the world??? ummm, even before iphone was invented, video calling ALREADY existed… im disappointed how apple talks about this like its their original invention… dont get me wrong, i love me some iphone, but, this is too much. hmph!!! @flaper41 HAHAHA!! Did i say it was? I said the android or any other phone that does touchscreen and features apps wouldn’t be around if it wasn’t for the iphone. It wasn’t the first smart phone but it changed it’s direction. Learn to read… You do it by sounding out words. Good try tho buddy.
