  1. Fucking statistics man.

    Fucking stats.

  2. @realpolodon

if you can do that under controlled conditions, the James Randi Foundation has a million dollars for you (or anybody else who can do what you claim you can do).

    Just sayin’

  3. Yeah the reason I brought it up, is because it has happened to me on many occasions. Once I thought maybe I am awakening some part of my mind, but my wife observed the effects in the room, proving it was something external. God if you will.

  4. @realpolodon

IF that kind of stuff was observed, it could indicate some kind of “power of an individuals mind”. Given the right kind of effects, it could even indicate some fairly convincing arguments for a “higher power” (not necessarily a god).

However, all the studies on the physical effects of prayer indicate that there aren’t any physical effects.

  5. Let me retry that.
No, it’s not Tiesto. It’s Agnus Dei, the 11th Opus. It’s been popularized by Samuel Barber’s Adagio for Strings.

  6. What if through prayer someone manifests physical phenomena? And it is observed by others, is that the power of an individuals mind?

  7. @XENAMAX
    Me too!

  8. I had a very similar experience myself so I know exactly what Evid3nc3 is saying

  9. Tiesto Elements of life in the background

  10. Another profoundly wonderful video.

  11. You have taken, and are still taking a great journey and it seems in my humble opinion that in many parts of the journey the biggest battles were within your own head

Some may call this deprogramming conflict.
Some things cannot be unlearnt if they are already learnt….

I think that part of growing up is ceasing to believe in fairy tales that religions offer us and believing in ourselves and our fellow human beings.

Cast away that crutch and stand tall not for anyone else but for yoruself.

  12. how can u not be a youtube partner

  13. thx to u i completely understand my fuzzyhead and i know he would love what u have uploaded this is siriously ha bisky

  14. Same for me. Roman Catholic, sought truth, entered seminary, went to college, met professors, questioned, questioned, questioned.

A phenomenal set of videos. Well done.

  15. @billredeemed
Five minutes on YouTube and you would know that bringing up the Big Bang theory in conjunction with the theory of evolution puts you immediately into the category of, “you don’t know WTF you’re talking about.”
It would be a really good idea to learn something about science before spouting off in opposition about it. It might embarrass you to learn just how solid the theory of evolution is, unless you loosen your grip on mythology a bit.

  16. @billredeemed
No one has yet to show any evidence that God exists, and there is even evidence to suggest Jesus didn’t exist.

    What evidence do you have?

If you cannot produce any, then you have no argument and are simply arguing from a basis of uninformed opinion.

  17. Bravo. You’ve outlined almost to a T the experience I’ve had. Although mine was so drawn out that it took me almost all of my 35 years to reach this point. I was also not a born again.

Regardless… This is an amazing series of videos.

  18. Bravo!

  19. hurry up for the next video! :P

  20. When is the next video??? I can’t wait!

  21. @Guffguy: I don’t think you do understand Evid3nc3 at all. He is clearly a fundamentally sound analytical thinker. He can’t make the kinds of logical mistakes you make.

He already had a purpose to believe (to bring the professor back to god.) What he needed for his belief to *make sense*. That’s why he deconverted — that’s impossible.

A few unexplained “miracles” would not “bring him back” because that’s just a ridiculously low bar.

  22. @Guffguy Seriously: “I was told it started with a J”?? This is called “cold-reading”. There’s a guy who does this on TV all the time. Look it up — James Randi can explain how the whole thing works.

What occurred is a guaranteed fraud.

  23. @Guffguy: Why would unexplained “miracles” cause you to stop doubting god? There’s no shortage of unexplained phenomenon in this world, if I just picked one, should that lead me to an irrational belief in god?

Isn’t the real reason because you *WANT* to believe in god, and unexplained things happening to you was just excuse you were looking for?

  24. @Guffguy: Calling coincidence of human behavior a sign is not meaningful. From an analytical point of view, it may be evidence of a genetic/societal component, or it may simply be coincidence.

Unexplained things that correlate with ill-defined concepts is a testimony about your current level understanding and how susceptible to confirmation bias you are. Remember people used to think the sun was a god.

  25. @Evid3nc3

    I agree.

Plus, you can still see the showmanship shine through, even though he is very serious about what he is doing.

By the way, have you thought of creating an archive of some of the books, studies, articles, etc, you referenced throughout your discourse with this professor?

Perhaps on a blog platform or elsewhere?
