   The best way to jailbreak a ipod touch 2gen version 3.1.3 is to download spirit http://spiritjb.com/ to get the firmware go here http://www.felixbruns.de/iPod/firmware/ you should download the 2.2.1 firmware. to restore the ipod incase anything goes wrong.

   Requirements:
   •Any version of iTunes 9 earlier than 9.2
   •Syncing with iTunes before trying this is highly recommended
   •Any iPad, iPhone, or iPod touch updated to 3.1.3 version
   •An activated device: one not stuck on the Connect to iTunes or Emergency Call screen.
   •And you also need wifi to jailbreak a ipod touch

   What to do after your jailbreak an ipod touch
   1. go into cydia
   2. go to search
   3. search for winterboard and download it

   Must have cydia apps

   1. winterboard
   2. five icon dock
   3. five column springboard
   4. volume boost
   5. volume button extender

   to download themes

   go to cydia > sections > themes (complete) download the one you would like and once its download go to winterboard and select it.

   uninstall cydia apps

   go to manage> packages and select the one you want to uninstall

   you can also sync after you jailbreak it.
